Ocean Breeze is my first major piece written for Wind Ensemble. I dedicated this piece to my high school band director, Megan Gryspeerdt. Without her I don’t know where I would’ve ended up after high school and my musical passion would have probably died away.

This piece is meant to symbolize the chaotic nature of the start of one’s last year of high school, but eventually you find a way to calm yourself down and ride out the year until the very end. The little horn moment towards the end symbolizes the sadness one feels right at the end before the big celebration of moving forward in life.
